The soundtrack of the 2017 documentary “Served Like A Girl” (directed by Lysa Heslov and which provides “a candid look at several American women as they transition from active duty to civilian life after serving tours of duty in Iraq and Afghanistan”) was released on digital stores on Friday. The soundtrack includes brand new songs from the likes of Christina Aguilera, Gwen Stefani, and Pink. These three songs (the most relevant ones from the soundtrack by far) were written and produced by the talented Linda Perry. Christina Aguilera’s song is called “America”, Gwen’s “Medicine Man”, and finally Pink’s “Halfway Gone”. Rumor has it Pink’s “Halfway Gone” is a previously unreleased track from her “Try This” album. “Halfway Gone” ultimately found its true purpose on the soundtrack of the “Served Like A Girl” documentary (yey at this gem not getting lost forever!).
Buy the soundtrack here, tweet Christina Aguilera to thank her for the new music, and stream all 3 songs mentioned in this post below. Which is your favorite?
